Adding an Event to EventList in Joomla

Firstly, to add a new event into Eventlist, you’ll need to be logged in as a front-end editor into your joomla site and have Eventlist module installed and activated.

This lesson is for front-end editing, which enables you to add an event, and venue from the front end of a Joomla site

Step 1. Adding a new Event

Click on the ‘Add new Event’ icon on the right hand side of the page
** Important note ** You will need to have Event ‘Categories’ set up in the category list. If this list is empty you can not save a new event. New event categories can only be added in the Back-end control panel of Joomla. Step 3, below explains this process in more detail

Step 2. Adding Event Details

1. – Add a Title into the title bar
2. Click on the “Select” button to select a venue from your current list – or – ‘Submit new venue’
3. Select category from your list -
** Important note ** If you do not have any ‘categories’ in your category list you will not be able to save your event.

Step 3. Adding a Category if you don’t have any Categories in your Drop-down list

The problem here is that you can’t add a new category to the drop-down list in Front-end editing. You will need to access the Back-end of your Joomla site, if you don’t have Back-end access you will need to talk to the site Administrator. Once inside Joomla go to ‘Eventlist’ in the ‘Components’ Menu, then either ( 1 ) open the Category window or ( 2 ) Add Category button in the main EventList control panel.
I’ll assume that if you have access to the Back-end of Joomla you’ll be able to Add a new category.

Step 4. Add Dates & Times

Add dates by clicking on the calendar button, insert time in the appropriate fields (*note*) Time format requires ” : ” as a separator.

Step 5. Select ‘Save’

You can go back and edit an Event after it has been saved by selecting the Edit icon

(cas:72) Google Analyticator was unable to authenticate you with Google using the Auth Token you pasted into the input box on the previous step.

This could mean either you pasted the token wrong, or the time/date on your server is wrong, or an SSL issue preventing Google from Authenticating.
