What to look for
- Design - Find a design that fits with your business image
- Colour - Template colours can be changed*
- Size - templates will vary in width, well over 90% of internet user now use screens capable of displaying 1024px wide and above. A small number of business users with larger networks may not yet have upgraded from 800 px wide screens, so if you want your site to display well for these users look out for these narrower designs. The template width will be detailed under Template information, once you have clicked on any of the template thumbnails.
- Modules - the most important element of the design. These modules are areas to which you will be able to assign different elements such as menus, banner ads, search boxes, or images (images can also be added into the main body areas of text). Apart from the main content area these are the areas you will be able to vary page to page. All other areas are of a fixed design and will appear on every page. So if you require a different header image on different pages you will need to find a template that has a modules in the header region an example of that would be Joomla template 22760.
- Navigation - All Templates can have vertical navigation in the left or right side bar, but if you want horizontal navigation make sure you choose a template with a horizontal menu module, in the location you want.
