Linking an New Article to a Menu Joomla 3

After making a new article in Joomla you may want to link directly to it from a menu.

Step 1

1. Click on Menus - a drop down will appear allow you to choose the menu you wish to add your article to
2. All your menus are listed here - click on the menu you wish to use

Step 2

Give your menu item a title, this is what will appear for visitors in the menu

For menu type click select> A new window will open

Step 3

Choose single article

Step 4

Click select Article > a new window will open

Step 5

Choose your article

Step 6

Choose if this is going to be a root item (top level) or a sub menu item. Save

Step 7

 

1 You will see your new menu item has appeared in the menu
2 You can now reorder your menu items
3 Hover over the menu item until the crosshair symbol appears, you can then drag and drop the menu items to reorder. Visit one of your web pages, refresh the page and your new menu item will be visable
