Penny Young is an experienced journalist and writer.
She did a three-year apprenticeship as a newspaper reporter with the Westminster Press. She later joined the BBC and became news editor for BBC Radio Northampton, leaving in 1991 to freelance for radio, television, including Anglia TV in Norwich, and the print media, both at home and abroad. Penny has also written for in-house business publications for companies including BT. She has travelled extensively, particularly in the Middle East, Turkey and eastern Europe.
Her publications include an account of a cycling trip along the Euphrates in Syria for Intrepid Arabia, pub. 1999, and the South East of England section in The Lefties' Guide to Britain, pub. 2005 by Politico's. Penny has just published Two Cocks on the Dunghill - the story of the friendship, feuds and fights of the two radical reformers, William Cobbett and Henry Hunt. See www.twopennypress.co.uk
